Resource Center Training
CCCRC offers Core of Knowledge (COK) and Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) that are approved through Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).
Training is provided in child development, curriculum, community, special needs, professionalism, and health safety and nutrition to help child care providers meet start up and continuing training needs for license renewal.
The 45-hour certificate classes such as Child Care I: Growth & Development; Child Care II: Activities for Young Children; School Age Child Care; Infant Development and Care and Child Care Administration, are offered on site at Chesapeake College and Online through a seat share agreement with Howard Community College. Courses are available in the evenings and on Saturdays throughout the year.
The CCCRC Resource Room is available for providers during regular business hours. (M-F from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM). It is recommended that you contact Deanna Tobin at email@example.com to be sure there is not a meeting or training scheduled at the time you plan to visit. The Resource Room has early childhood reference books, children’s books as well as an accucut and laminating machines. There is a small fee for certain supplies. Please make an appointment to use the laminator.
